Product Details The Megabass Dark Sleeper gives anglers a stealthy swimbait option for bass, walleye, and other bottom-dwelling predators holding tight to structure or vegetation. Its ultra-realistic profile, soft fins, and natural color patterns combine with a paddle tail that moves fluidly, even at slow retrieve speeds. A soft dorsal fin conceals the hook point to reduce snags while compressing easily for quick hooksets, and the weighted bottom fin design maintains a low center of gravity for balanced, lifelike action along the bottom. Wakasagi and Hanahaze have been the best colors for me on Sturgeon Bay, Mille Lacs, Rainy River, Sands Bay, Pepin Lake, Lake Traverse, and many other small lakes. What I have found is that the fish bite the tail off this lure far too easily. I am averaging 12 casts and the tail is missing. Yes, I have caught fish with it but for the price that I have to pay for the purchase of one lure, it isnt worth using it. IMO, the price needs to drop or there should be four or five of these offered in a package rather than just one. I can purchase 6-8 paddle tails for the price of one of these and 10-12 plastic worms for the price of a single Sleeper (plus, I can easily change the weight size). At least with a tube, only one or two of the tentacles get bit off and you can continue to fish with it. When this lure loses its tail, the lure is rendered useless and time needs to be allotted for a new one to be tied on. As for the eyes on the lure, we could debate all day as to whether or not they help attract a fish but the fact of the matter is that they fall off very quickly. Its not a matter of whether or not they will off, its a matter of how soon they will be gone. Again, Ive caught fish with this product but the time taken to have to retie on another one and the replacement cost leads to a frustrating experience.
